the Benefits of a Small School
a tradition of excellence delivered in a personalized, caring way that only a
small school can.
Our elementary schools are "Reward Schools," ranked in the top 5% in
the state. Our students consistently score above the state average and lead
our region on standardized tests, as well as MME/ACT scores. Elk Rapids has
graduated several National Merit Scholar Finalists in the last few years.
Our student-centered approach prepares students to lead in the 21st
century global economy. Students at all grade levels are provided 1-to-1
iPad technology and foreign language opportunities. Cherryland Middle
School is the only school in northern Michigan to become an International
Baccalaureate World School. The Honors Academy at Elk Rapids High School
provides academic rigor, project-based learning, and a high school diploma
of distinction. Our students can also take college credit classes on-campus
and through dual enrollment at Northwestern Michigan College, hands-on
classes at the Career Tech Center, and over thirty on-line courses.
Elk Rapids boasts over thirty athletic teams, award winning visual
and performing arts programs, an award winning debate team, and other
after-school clubs and opportunities. We emphasize partnering with the
community through programs like Pennies for Peace, local food pantries,
Earth Day, and Rotary Clubs. Through academics and extra-curricular
activities, Elk Rapids Schools strive to meet the needs and interests of every
student and are committed to continuously improving as educational leaders.
Many of us visit northern Michigan for the summer. Come check us out
and see why this is a great place to stay year-round and a great place to
raise a family! www.ERSchools.com
